Because I buy and sell mostly vintage items, my stock is constantly changing, subject to the vagaries of the market, subject to what I'm able to hunt down, and subject to my finding the time to recondition the items I find that aren't perfect.
In addition to the items listed below, I like to list beautiful shaving brushes, shaving mugs and scuttles, and excellent safety razors. I'm also in discussion with an area soap-maker to add a top-notch shaving soap.
Please check back often. In the meantime, I'll be out hunting for new items for your shaving pleasure.
Manly Shaving
Sometimes I fix razors. Sometimes I hone razors. Sometimes I hunt for razors. Sometimes I dream about razors. Sometimes I sell razors. Sometimes I shave.

Seelbach Cutlery Blackhawk 5/8 Square point hollow
This isn't a new razor, and it has a couple little warts -- but it's good-looking, great-shaving, and relatively inexpensive. Note that the blade is all but unworn..the spine is all there, the blade is all there. The tang, the tail, and the spine are factory blackened, it's a great-looking azor.
The bevel is very even and narrow.
The bevel is very even and narrow.
I promised you warts -- some pits on the back side. I don't try to buff them out, I'm just not that good with a buffer.
The other wart is that the blade doesn't set perfectly into the scales. It favors the front scale and needs just a nudge to close the blade properly. The scales are celluloid and good-looking with nickel bolsters. Very shiny, attractive ivory color, tight pins and bolsters..
To sum this up -- the minor warts this razor has are reflected in the price. This is a terrific shaving razor that should last for years. I'll re-hone up to three times no charge, customer just pays postage.
Only $45.00 -- PayPal only. That price includes first-class mail shipping with insurance, United States only. Interested international buyers are welcome to e-mail about shipping, but it's expensive.

Goodwin Pottery Shaving Mug
A beautiful decorative piece for you shave den, or a Victorian accent for you bath.
In generally good condition, with only slight wear to the gold trim. The picture of the interior shows a spot on the bottom of the inside where the glaze is either worn or just not completely glazed. The glaze is "crazed" overall, but it's still a beautiful display piece.
This mug stands about 4" high. It would likely have come from a vanity set with a pitcher and bowl.
The picture below shows the blemish on the bottom inside. It's not much, but it's worth mentionong.

SOLD -- B J Eyre Challenge Cutlery, pre 1914 -- 9/16 Swayback w/ barbers' notch
The blade on this century-old beauty is a beauty, the scales, though solid and functional, are less stellar, but they do the job well.
I would call the grind here about 1/2 hollow. There is some hone/spine wear, no worse than "a little", and it's very even. The razor hones easily, gives a remarkable edge, and shaves like a charm.
This type of celluloid scale is fairly soft, given to scratching. This pair is solid and well-pinned and generally shiny. The spacer is red acrylic -- the original spacer has disintegrated from age and use. At the wedge end of the scales, around the pin, there is some dullness and scratching, but they look very nice overall, and remember -- they're 100 years old at least. The blade drops very neatly into the center of the scales.

In terms of dating, the best bet is that this was made sometime between 1899 and 1914. During this time, Challenge Cutlery Works of Bridgeport, Connecticut was importing blades from Sheffield.

ShaveMac Shaving Brush
SOLD!!
Used Shavemac Shaving Brush
I purchased this as part of a lot and the seller described it as a "Shavemac Super Silvertip" It's about 5 years old, and this is apparently a discontinued model, so I'm not able to verify that it's in fact a "Super Silvertip", though everything else he sold me was spot-on to his description. What I can tell you is that this is one luxurious, almost sensuous shaving brush. It's soft and silky without going limp, makes a thick lather without even trying. I'd keep it -- it's sweeeet -- but I buy to re-sell.
Medium size -- overall height is 100mm. That's 45mm handle, 55mm loft. As best I can measure, the knot size is 24mm. The handle is acrylic, sort or a grey-brown-green swirl with a clear base.
It's been washed 3 times in borax -- it's clean and it's ready to go.
If I was 100% certain that this is a "Super Silvertip" I'd want a bunch more money. As it is, someone gets a real luxury brush for $45.00.
